Vipers Strike: Vandegrift Shuts Out Vista Ridge

Round Rock Hail Roof Inspection

On Friday night the Vandegrift Vipers traveled to play the Vista Ridge Rangers in district play.

Vista Ridge Rangers

Quarterback Grant Richardson couldn’t seem to get hot, completing only 6 of 13 passes for 41 yards. Richardson connected with receivers Jake Pando 2 times for 19 yards, Kade Nathman 3 time for 16 yards, and Ta’von McAdams, who had one lone 6-yard reception. With the air game struggling, the Rangers couldn’t get the ground game going either.  Mark Castillo rushed for only 16 yards on 3 carries.

The Vipers came out hot and never stopped as Deuce Adams completed 17 of 26 passes for 252 yards, throwing for 3 touchdowns.  Adams connected with Miles Coleman, who had 8 receptions for 109 yards scoring twice, Brock Chilton, who caught 4 passes for 76 yards scoring once, and Jase Skoglund, who totaled 3 receptions for 32 yards.  As the air raid offense was very effective, the Vipers moved the ball on the ground effectively too.

Brendan Fournier was the big rusher on the night, rushing for 101 yards on 16 carries.  Ben Emmanuel carried the ball twice, finding the endzone on a 3-yard run, and Zaid Oliver rushed for 37 yards on 9 carries, also scoring a touchdown. The defense stopped the Rangers all night, allowing just over 50 total yards.  Diego De La Vara made plays all over the field as he finished with 9 tackles on night.

Vandegrift routs Vista Ridge 45-0.

Next week Vandegrift will defend their home turf in their last district game against Round Rock Westwood, and Vista Ridge will travel to play Round Rock in their final district game.
