The Wall Hawks took the field seeking vengeance against the Brock Eagles. For the last two seasons, Brock has dealt defeats to the Hawks. That came to an end tonight, along with the Eagles’ 29-game win streak. The Hawks handed Brock their first loss since the 2014 season.

The 3A division 1, Region 1 teams met in Abilene at Shotwell Stadium, a place that would come to serve as the final resting place for the Eagles’ 2016 season. Wall’s Tymber Carr caught the first touchdown pass of the game and was followed quickly by Brock’s Bryce Nye with an Eagle field goal. The Hawks would go on to score one touchdown per quarter for the remainder of the game, including one more by Tymber Carr in the third quarter and a pair by Thomas Halfmann.

Brock took a first half 17-14 lead after two touchdowns from Tyler Gray. Not only would these scores mark the last of the game, but the last of the season for the Eagles. Wall went on to defeat the unbeaten Eagles 28-17. The Hawks will advance to the next round of the playoffs and play Mineola.
