Denton Guyer at Allen
This might be the most anticipated game in District 6-6A. Everything will be on the line with both Allen and Denton Guyer posting perfect 3-0 records in district. Look for another big defensive test for Allen. Denton Guyer has found their groove after an early season loss to DeSoto. In the four games since, the Wildcats have won in convincing fashion outscoring their opponents 173-44. Pay attention to Wildcats running back Noah Cain. He’s just a sophomore, but runs like a seasoned veteran.

Erik Ezukanma
There is no surprise about what Keller Timber Creek’s game plan is every Friday—get the ball to Ezukanma. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound junior receiver has been on an absolute tear this season. In six games, Ezukanma has accumulated 1,065 yards receiving for 15 touchdowns. I repeat: 15 touchdowns in six games. Watch for him to have another big game this week against District 3-6A rival Haltom (4-3).

Frisco Teams Clash
The marquee matchup in Frisco this week is a clash between Frisco Lone Star (5-1, 3-0) and Frisco Wakeland (5-1, 3-0). In what is turning out to be an unpredictable District 13-5A, both Lone Star and Wakeland have been superb this season. Watch for Utah commit, Jason Shelley, to lead Lone Star offensively. Shelley has accrued 1,539 yards passing with 10 touchdowns and two interceptions.

Battle of 6-0 teams in 8-5A
Grapevine and Richland have been the class of District 8-5A thus far. Both with 6-0 records, this could have huge ramifications within the district. Quarterback Alan Bowman anchors Grapevine offensively. The junior has run rampant, gaining 1,432 yards passing with 22 touchdowns and only three interceptions. Like Grapevine, Richland has an outstanding quarterback of their own. Senior Trae Self has been on fire this season, accumulating 1,541 yards passing with 23 touchdowns. Expect a lot offense on Friday.

Sunnyvale and that High-Flyin’ Offense
If you’re not familiar with Sunnyvale, they like to air it out. Their senior quarterback Caleb McDill has been lights out this season while leading Sunnyvale to a perfect 6-0 record. McDill has 1,247 yards passing with 18 touchdowns and only two interceptions. Sunnyvale faces Life Oak Cliff and I’m expecting some high scores. In five of their six wins, Sunnyvale has scored at least 45 points.
