The Wildcats came into their 6th game of the season with a 3-2 record, showing a lot of improvement from their 2-7 season last year. Rankin, who has been one of the better 1A teams over the past 5 years, came in at just 2-2
The Wildcats earned a 59-14 victory over Rankin on the road. Anthony Quintana led the way with 15 carries for 79 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. He also added a receiving TD, a 30-yard passing TD, and returned a fumble for a score.
Landon Lacy contributed 71 rushing yards and a TD and threw for 80 yards with two passing touchdowns. Defensively, Boston Wiese led the Wildcats with 12 tackles and added a rushing touchdown.
The Water Valley Wildcats are now 4-2. They have a week off before they play their first District 8-1A against the Veribest Falcons. The Rankin Red Devils start District 4-1A next week as they host Garden City.
