“I am so excited for our kids to be able to experience the playoffs. They have worked extremely hard for this, and have continued to gain confidence and believe in what we are building,” first-year Pilot Point head coach Chad Worrell said. “To see them improve each week, and have the reward of getting to this second season of playoffs, has been so much fulfilling as a coach.”

Josh Chumley paced a dominant Bearcat rushing attack with 224 yards and five touchdowns. In all, the Bearcats racked up 425 yards on the ground.
However, it wasn’t just the offense getting things done. Lane Eft and Jordan Young each returned a kickoff for a touchdown, and Bearcat safety Hunter Newman had a pick-six defensively.
Pilot Point will now need another complete performance this week if it wants to earn its first playoff win since 2020. The Bearcats will face Mexia on Thursday at the Gopher Bowl in Grand Prairie.
