However, Lone Star wasn’t done. With the ball just past midfield and only seconds remaining, the improbable happened. As captured by Star Local Media’s Matt Welch, Lone Star quarterback Collin Blackstock found his receiver Winston Pollard streaking open down the middle for a 42-yard touchdown as time expired, securing the wild upset victory for the Rangers.

Blackstock had a big night, throwing for 224 yards and two touchdowns, but he wasn’t Lone Star’s only star. Sophomore running back Davian Groce rushed for 201 yards and another two touchdowns on a wildly productive night for the Lone Star offense.
Off the back of this big district victory, Lone Star will head into its bye week to recuperate before the rest of district play. Next up for the Rangers will be an away game against Frisco Wakeland on Sept. 22.
