The three-star prospect (247 Sports) chose the Bruins over offers from Utah, Colorado and Minnesota among others. The offer from UCLA was his most recent one, dating back to June 9.

Coleman is considered a top recruit in the 2018 class and made an impact for the Wranglers in 2016, finishing with 40 tackles, one sack, one interception and forced one fumble in nine games played last season, per MaxPreps.

The rising senior will look to take on a bigger role in the secondary along with fellow rising senior safety Drake Cheatum.

Last season, the Wranglers finished 7-5 which included an upset win previously-unbeaten Texarkana Texas High in the opening round of the Class 5A Division I playoffs.

West Mesquite opens the 2017 season at home against Arlington Seguin on September 1.
