Wrestling Legend’s Son Starting For Boerne Champions
Pro wrestlers who previously competed in TXHSFB are nothing new. The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Terry Funk, and many others all laced up for the Lone Star State gridiron. Now, the next generation born from wrestling competitors are preparing beneath the Friday Night Lights. Specifically, Bill Goldberg’s son Gage Goldberg… who is excelling at starting linebacker with Boerne Champion.
Almost two years following his appearance on SummerSlam, the Goldberg has fielded an offer to walk on at Alabama next year. The senior is listed as a tight/end linebacker and has so far helped the Chargers start with an unblemished record (2-0).
Gage revealed the announcement on Twitter, publishing a photoshoot of himself in Crimson Tide gear and his famous dad holding the football.

Clearly, football runs in the family: although not a TXHSFB prospect, the WWE Hall-of-Famer previously played defensive tackle for the Georgia Bulldogs in the late 1980s. After his college stay, he spent time in the NFL with the Rams, Falcons, and Panthers.
Standing at six feet and weighing 205 pounds, the senior notched 84 tackles and two tackles for loss. Additionally, he plays catcher for Boerne Champion, leading the Chargers to the state semifinals. Besides Alabama, he has a scholarship opportunity with the University of San Diego.
Since the program began over a decade ago, the Chargers have yet to win a state championship.
