Tucson, AZ –  Duel in the Arizona Desert is the featured showcase game for High School Football Friday Night 09/07 as it’s Arizona vs. Texas. The 3-0 SalPointe Catholic Lancers (Tucson, AZ) will host the 1-0 Del Valle High School Conquistadores (El Paso, Texas).

Since the release of the High School Football schedules, there has been great anticipation and now a buzz building for this matchup.

The Lancers come in undefeated (3-0) led by 4 Star Defensive Back Lathan Ransom who holds a Dozen Division 1 offers from several teams across the country. The Lancers also feature the Running Back Duo of Bijan Robinson and Mario “El Jukebox” Padillo who run behind a solid Offensive Line. The Lancers have plenty of experience on Defense who can play with anyone.

The Conquistadores (1-0) will come in with an Aerial Assault led by Senior Standout QB Raymond Montez. Montez is a surgeon on the field who reads defenses well and is an elusive scrambler whose running ability can be a significant factor coming out of the backfield. Del Valle’s Aerial Attack comes with an arsenal of key senior wide-outs; Karch Gardiner, Danny Cortez, Cauy Oropeza and Christian Rendon can get open on any play, are excellent run blockers and also play on defensive side of the ball. The Defensive Line is anchored by Defensive Tackle Javier Montes who can disrupt plays and be a factor up front. Del Valle is a well-coached defensive unit with fast linebackers who swarm to the ball every play.

The Conquistadores are experienced and are Battle tested as Head Coach Jesse Perales’ philosophy of scheduling tough opponents early in the season prepares his team for District play and eventual deep playoff runs year after year.

This should be an exciting game. The matchup between two D1 prospects – WR Gardiner (DV) vs DB Ransom (SC) going Head to Head will be one to look forward to. It may come down to whoever has the ball last or whoever has the edge in turnovers.

Several have the Lancers winning in this one. You can bet Coach Perales will have his team ready to go and step up to the challenge.

Our Pick:  Del Valle 35 – SalPointe 31 in a high scoring shoot out.
