What Baylor head football coach Matt Rhule has done in preparation of National Signing Day since his arrival in December has been nothing short of phenomenal. When Rhule was given the reins to the Baylor program, there was only one commitment at the time in Stafford safety Jalen Pitre.

Fast forward a few weeks later and Rhule has brought in a total of 27 recruits looking to rewrite the story of Baylor when it comes to their performance on the field. The 2017 class is ranked at 36th in the nation in a composite score representing the averages among 247 Sports, ESPN, Rivals and Scout.

Several big name recruits helped Baylor rise in the recruiting game with athletes such as OL Xavier Newman (DeSoto), WR Gavin Holmes (Justin Northwest), WR R.J. Sneed (Cypress Ranch) and LB Ashton Logan (Temple) all signing their National Letters of Intent.

Baylor nabbed 20 of their recruits from Texas while the remaining makeup is composed of three from New Jersey and one from each of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana. Position wise, Baylor has 13 on offense (6 OL, 4 WR/TE, 2 RB, 1 QB) and 14 on defense (7 DL, 3 LB, 4 DB). All signees are freshmen.
