The three-star pass-catcher and defensive back, Carter has seen his recruitment take off throughout the past two months, as all eight of his offers have come since May 31. He sided with Oklahoma over invitations form Baylor, Georgia, Illinois, Oklahoma Sate, Oregon, Penn State and Texas Tech.
Ranked as the nation’s No. 267 player, Carter spent his junior season hauling in 12 receptions from 217 yards and five touchdowns, along with 14 tackles, two pass breakups and an interception of the defensive side of the ball.
The 6’0, 180-pounder will now bring that added versatility to Oklahoma’s 2019 class, which is currently ranked No. 7 nationally and No. 1 in the Big 12. Carter now joins Prestonwood Christian tight end Austin Stogner as 2019 Oklahoma pledges from Texas.
Carter is ranked as the nation’s No. 32 athlete and the No. 38 player in Texas, per 247Sports.
