Ducks head coach Willie Taggart picked up a pledge from 2019 Fort Bend Travis wide receiver Arjei Henderson just hours ago and now, Oregon’s top 10-ranked 2018 class now has its first addition from The Lone Star State in McKinley.
A three-star prospect, McKinley has compiled 34 offers to date and committed to Oregon over invitations from program including Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, Washington, Clemson, Colorado, Nebraska, Penn State and Tennessee, among others. Things had been trending favorably for Oregon for a while and Saturday, marked McKinley’s second visit to Eugene in the past five weeks. He becomes commit No. 16 for Oregon as part of a class that’s ranked No. 8 nationally and No. 1 in the Pac-12.
McKinley will now head back to Texas as an Oregon Duck ahead of his senior season at Hebron.
As a junior, the 5’10, 170-pounder tallied 38 total tackles, along with 14 pass break-ups and four interceptions.
McKinley is ranked as the nation’s No. 348 player, No. 36 cornerback and the No. 49 player in Texas, per 247Sports Composite.
