Frank Wilson and his staff began the week by hauling in their third commitment in just six days, as North Forney athlete Corey Mayfield Jr. announced his pledge to UTSA on Sunday via Twitter.

A three-star wide receiver and defensive back prospect largely being recruited as a cornerback, Mayfield committed to the Roadrunners over a variety of options including Army, Colorado State, Minnesota, Nevada, Rice and Texas State. Mayfield holds 10 totals offers and all expect his invitation from Minnesota have come since the start of 2017.
Ranked as the nation’s No. 1,455 player overall, per 247Sports Composite, Mayfield is now the headliner of UTSA’s 2018 class as the highest-ranked pledge to date. His addition pushes UTSA’s class to No. 82 nationally and No. 3 in Conference USA.
At 6’1, 180 pounds, Mayfield is ranked as the nation’s No. 109 athlete and the No. 177 player in Texas, per 27Sports Composite.
