Rock Hill Key Players and Storylines

Rock Hill has now made the playoffs in back-to-back years, but the Blue Hawks have a challenge on their hands this season after graduating a large senior class.

That includes the quarterback and running back positions, where the Blue Hawks will have to mature quickly this fall. They do have the potential for fireworks in the passing game with explosive senior Leo Williams (454 receiving yards and four touchdowns), versatile senior Alijah Adefunmi, and two-way stud Courtney Lawson (508 receiving yards and six touchdowns), who will also play some cornerback. Junior tight end Brady Wilkinson also has great upside at 6’0” and 200 pounds.

Up front, junior tackle Troy Falke is already getting Division I looks, while 6’2”, 277-pound tackle/center Trevor Janak was a second team all-district center last season.

Defensively, the Blue Hawks are also stout in the trenches. 6’1”, 270-pound defensive tackle Addison Knight is a man who can’t be moved while defensive ends Cameron Medder (21 tackles, two TFLs) and Jonathan Stroughter (18 tackles, three TFLs) will be expected to provide the pass rush off the edge.

In the middle of the field, linebacker Riley Hinds (63 tackles) runs a 10.6-second 100-meter dash and has the playmaking ability to go along with it, while fellow linebacker LJ Ricks (44 tackles) is a physical enforcer. On the back end, junior safety Christian Henry (30 tackles) is looking to build on a promising sophomore season.

Everywhere you look on this Rock Hill roster, there is plenty of speed. The question marks lie with their depth and especially in their backfield. If they can sort out those key positions quickly, they should be in the mix for their third-straight playoff berth this fall.
