South Grand Prairie Key Players and Storylines
South Grand Prairie’s eight wins a year ago were its most in a season since 2006. Complacency, though, won’t be an issue in the Warriors’ locker room after a nail-biting first round playoff exit to Lake Highlands.
Head coach Laban DeLay said he likes the experience they have with 25 returning lettermen, but some new faces will need to emerge as leaders. That starts with Ryan Goss who slides over to quarterback after finishing last year as South Grand Prairie’s third-leading receiver.
Cash Clark (576 receiving yards and six touchdowns) is an impact player at receiver, while Isaiah Tatum (203 rushing yards) is next man up at running back. These skill guys should have a good foundation ahead of them with senior offensive linemen Karson Floyd, Isaiah Torres, and Kobe Smith.

Defensively, defensive end Noah Kennedy is ready to build off a strong campaign where he earned first team all-district honors. Junior linebacker Kevin Leonard burst onto the scene a year ago, while defensive back Christian Pittman is the only other returning starter on that side of the ball.
There may be some unproven talent in the starting lineup for the Warriors this fall, but this is a program that will expect to be a top four finisher again as they look to extend their playoff streak to 13 years.
