Pebble Hills Outlasts Hanks 49-44 in El Paso Shootout

Pebble Hills is 3-0, but the Spartans certainly had to earn this one.

Hanks gave Pebble Hills everything it could handle Thursday night before the Spartans escaped with a 49-44 win. Both teams came in playing well, with Pebble Hills fresh off a 35-14 victory over El Paso Chapin and Hanks coming off a 48-17 win over Bowie.

That momentum showed up quickly. The offenses spent most of the night answering each other, turning the game into a four-quarter shootout where neither side could ever really relax. Hanks stayed within striking distance all the way to the closing minutes.

Eventually, Pebble Hills needed its defense to finish what the offense started. The Spartans created enough pressure to shut down Hanks’ final opportunity and preserve the five-point win. Next comes a big road trip to Odessa Permian for Pebble Hills, while Hanks returns home for a Homecoming matchup against Ysleta.
