Pebble Hills Outlasts Hanks 49-44 in El Paso Shootout

Pebble Hills stayed unbeaten with a hard-earned 49-44 win over Hanks on Thursday night in a game that turned into one of the more entertaining shootouts of the young season.

The Spartans entered the matchup at 2-0 after beating El Paso Chapin 35-14 the previous week, while Hanks came in with momentum of its own after a 48-17 win over Bowie. That carried over immediately, with both offenses trading scores and big plays throughout all four quarters.

Neither team was able to create much separation, and the game stayed within reach deep into the fourth quarter. Pebble Hills finally came up with the stop it needed late, creating enough pressure to stall Hanks’ final drive and preserve the five-point win.

Pebble Hills moves to 3-0 and now faces a major road test against Odessa Permian. Hanks falls to 2-1 and returns home for a Homecoming matchup against Ysleta.
