3A Team of the Week: Dalhart Golden Wolves
Dalhart certainly found itself quite the test to close out non-district play this past Friday. The Golden Wolves hit the road to face Canadian for the first time since 1985, according to The Dalhart Texan.
Even though Dalhart entered the game 4-1, a win wouldn’t come easily against the number seven team in 3A Division II.
Or so in theory.
The Golden Wolves put on a dominant performance, rolling to a statement 26-7 victory.
Running back Brett Alver rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns, while quarterback Kaleb Speer threw for 198 yards. Bay Wing led the receiving corps with five catches for 53 yards.
Week 6 highlights. Very huge win against a great program! 26-7 against Canadian Tx.

Defensively, Alver and safety Eli Kelso both had seven total tackles. Defensive end Santiago Aguilar had an interception, while Jacob Olvera and Kash Grimsley each forced fumbles.
With the win, Dalhart is now 5-1 on the season. The Golden Wolves will kick off district play this Friday with a trip to Brownfield.
