Marcus Rodrigue with The Advocate visited with Texas A&M quarterback Trevor Knight at the Manning Passing Academy this week and wrote about how Knight termed his arrival at Aggieland as a “perfect fit.”
Knight, a one-time Aggie commit out of San Antonio Reagan, lost his starting job at Oklahoma to Heisman Trophy candidate Baker Mayfield, graduated with a business management degree in December and talked to Sooner head coach Bob Stoops about finding another school where he could finish up his college career. Knight wound up making contact with A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin who just happened to be a former assistant to Stoops.
“[Sumlin and I were] talking about things, talking about ideas we’re looking for. So it’s like I’ve been there for four years, but I’ve only been there for a semester.”
