On this week’s episode of the T.J. McAloon Show, Indianapolis Colts rookie defensive tackle Hassan Ridgeway joined the podcast to discuss his first year in the NFL. The former Mansfield High School standout, and Texas Longhorn starter, discussed what he’s taken from his days playing in Texas and how they’ve helped him transfer his game to the NFL level.
“Up in the NFL everyone is a superstar. Unlike when I was playing on Friday or Saturday’s there were some people who weren’t on that elite level. Now, every Sunday I am going up against the best players in the world.” Hassan said about the differences from his days as an amateur compared to being a pro.
We also discussed the transition from living in the warm climate of Texas to Indy; where the highs in November usually range in the low to mid-40s.
To close the show I called up one of my best friends, Joe B, to talk about the final week of the College Football season. We started a conversation over Google Chat about Penn State and Ohio State and who should represent the Big Ten in the college football playoff. He has an idea that would revolutionize the playoff with something called the “Salute to Service Double Header” that would tie into the Army vs. Navy game.
