One of Oklahoma State’s most dynamic playmakers will be coming back to school for one more season. According to Jenni Carlson of The Oklahoman, former Stamford standout wide receiver James Washington will be returning to the Cowboys for his senior year. The report also indicates that quarterback Mason Rudolph and linebacker Chad Whitener would also be coming back to school.

Washington and his teammates had each requested information from the NFL regarding their grade from evaluators and where they would expect to be drafted. Per Carlson’s report, Washington has not yet received that evaluation. The NFL started sending out feedback this week.

Washington has established himself as one of the top playmakers for the Cowboys. This season, the junior finished with 62 catches for 1,209 yards and nine touchdowns. He was also a first-team All-Big 12 honoree.

If he does come back for his senior year, he would have a chance to further climb the rankings as the best receiver in school history. Currently, he ranks fourth on OSU’s career receiving yards list with 2,752 yards and is one of only five OSU receivers with multiple 1,000-yard seasons.

The Cowboys take on the Colorado Buffaloes on December 29 in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.
