The Atlanta Falcons will be appearing in the Super Bowl for only the second time in franchise history and for the first time since the 1998 season. This time around though, the Falcons are looking to capture that elusive first title with the strength of their offense leading the charge to Houston.

Offensively, Atlanta has produced one of the most historical seasons in league history. The Falcons scored the seventh-most points in NFL history and finished the regular season with the highest points per game average (33.8), second in total yards per game (415.8) and third in passing yards per game (295.3). Led by MVP contender Matt Ryan, an effective running back tandem in Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman and the electrifying Julio Jones, Atlanta has dissected opposing defenses on their way to Super Bowl LI.

With Houston, Texas serving as the home of the biggest stage in sports this year, one Falcon in particular will be returning to his home state where a majority of his playing career has taken place.

Mesquite native and John Horn High School graduate Taylor Gabriel will be basking in the aura of football’s biggest spectacle come February 5th and has been a key contributor in the Atlanta offense.

Gabriel compiled 579 receiving yards on 35 receptions and has six touchdowns. Gabriel who despite being undrafted in 2014 and then released by the Browns in September of 2016 has been an excellent addition for Atlanta.

The former Abilene Christian wide out has been a great compliment to Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu as his production alongside those two have put Atlanta in the NFL history books and on the brink of forever cementing their legacy as one of the most elite offenses to grace an NFL field.
