For the first time in their young history, the Houston Texans are taking training camp off site. The team announced on Thursday that they would hold training camp in West Virginia at The Greenbrier Resort.
Texans Executive Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager Rick Smith talked about the move in the release from the team, saying:
“We are thrilled with the opportunity to hold training camp at the Greenbrier. It’s a wonderful place and the facilities and climate combine for an ideal environment as our team trains, bonds, and prepares for the 2017 season.”
This isn’t the first time that the resort has hosted an NFL team. The New Orleans Saints held their training camp at The Greenbrier from 2014-2016. Per a report from Josh Katzenstein of NOLA.com, the Saints will not be coming back to the resort for training camp in 2017.
