At last summer’s Under the Lights camp at Texas, San Antonio Marshall WR Stanley Lambert was a relative unknown. Holding one offer from his local UTSA Roadrunners, the day mainly served as a chance to compete against competition he might not face on a regular basis. With the camp featuring some of the state and nation’s top defensive backs, the task looked daunting. But as he left camp, Lambert surprised everyone including himself and landed an offer with the Texas Longhorns.
For a player who has not been high on many of the top recruiters list, he has now garnered some attention with his senior year approaching. With a 6-3 frame and weighing a little over 200 pounds, it’s easy to see why this Rams’ star can attract an offer from the likes of Texas State, New Mexico, and Nevada.
Vastly improving his game during the spring, one can see the attributes Lambert possesses in footwork for his size, but also the sure hands. Racking up 34 receptions for close to 500 yards and four scores in his past two seasons, his senior season could potentially be his coming out party as he looks to shatter those numbers this fall.
With a plethora of top prospects at wide out in the San Antonio area including Tommy Bush of Clemens and Brandon McDuffie of Johnson, Stanley Lambert could be the next on this list if he is able to reach the heights he, and the people around him have set out for him. In a competitive San Antonio district, where he will face these and some of the other top talent in the city, scouts will be present for Lambert to showcase his talent. Ultimately, it will be up to him to see if the amount of offers he holds will increase significantly.
