Despite athletic gems hidden within the latter parts of the NFL draft, audience interest usually wanes during rounds 4-6. The NFL hopes to spice up the indifference by making the announcement through special platforms hosted by celebrity guests, singers, astronauts, former veterans and fan interactions. Additionally, round 6 will be primarily youth football oriented and will have the involvement of NFL Flag, Pop Warner and numerous local programs.
Here are some of the special announcements for the period:
-The Houston Texans may have the most impressive platform for making their pick… and it’s not even on this planet. Astronauts on the International Space Station will report the selection for this first time ever in space.
– Murmurs of an England league still persist, when the Jaguars make the call from both Florida and London.
– The Indianapolis Colts will monkey around by making their pick from the local zoo.
– If you’re afraid of heights, I wouldn’t recommend this one. Cheerleaders of the Arizona Cardinals will shout the picks from the vast expanses of the Grand Canyon.
-Don’t forget the barf bag. The Cleveland Browns hope to turn their franchise woes around at Cedar Point Amusement Park.
– Along with an assortment of guests, the Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco Cardinals and Washington Redskins will host a special ceremony at their respective stadiums.
