According to the Bryan Eagle, wide receiver Kirk Merritt has officially been removed from the Texas A&M football team.
Merritt has been charged with two counts of indecent exposure. He allegedly exposed and touched himself to two tutors from the athletic department last October.
Merritt was suspended indefinitely from athletics after his arrest on November 8th. His attorney claims that the incident can be boiled down to Merritt having “a bad itch”.
As of yesterday, Merritt’s name is not listed on the Texas A&M’s online roster. Merritt transferred to Texas A&M from Oregon last summer.
“While Kirk is very embarrassed about this situation, and has apologized to the two tutors that he offended, he did not intend to gratify anyone by exposing himself,” said Merritt’s attorney, Rick Davis, in a statement earlier this month.
