The three-star prospect chose the Cougars over other offers Air Force, Bowling Green, Colorado State, New Mexico State and Texas State and several Ivy League schools.
Simply put, Vaughn was all over the field for the Tigers in 2016, finishing with 103 tackles, five interceptions (two returned for touchdowns), and three pass breakups. He also showed his versatility as a kick returner. Put all of it together and you have a safety who was selected a 6A first-team all-state selection by the AP.
Vaughn becomes the sixth commit for the Cougars in the Class of 2018 and the fifth within the last month. Major Applewhite has found some solid talent in his first recruiting class at Houston and now he has a top playmaker at safety in the fold.
