On the second day of the Big 12 Media Days, Oklahoma State punter Zach Sinor launched a self-promotion bid to garner Heisman votes.

His website, http://sinor4heisman.com/, has the glitz and glamour of an old-school Myspace.com page rather than a professionally designed website of the new millennium. It has a dancing baby, meteors that explode with the word “KABOOM!!” and Sinor4Heisman text that rotates in a starry backdrop.

“Punters are people too!” scrolls across the top of the page.

Sinor, who played his high school ball in Texas at Castroville Medina Valley, was one of the best punters in the country last season as a sophomore for the Cowboys. He was a semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award last year for the nation’s best punter.

He led all FBS punters with 62.6 percent of his kicks landing inside the opposing team’s 20, which was almost 10 percent better than any other punter in the country.

He has booted two 65-yard punts in his career. The first came as a freshman against Central Michigan and the second against Pitt last fall. He redshirted in 2014 and started every game since 2015.

“This year I’;m setting my sights even higher. I want to be the first punter to ever win the Heisman Trophy,” he says on his website. “The numbers don’t lie and they spell disaster for opposing offenses.”

He’s a management major who obviously has a knack for throwback marketing. But if you want to catch one of his punts, be prepared to wear your sunglasses because his high hang times result in fair catches and returns averaging less than a yard.

Sinor has made the academic all- Big 12 team each of the last two seasons and was a National Honor Society member at Medina Valley.
