Baylor defensive back Travon Blanchard has found himself in more trouble. The suspended defensive back was arrested on Tuesday night in Waco on a charge of assault family violence. Per the McClennan County Sheriff’s Office, Blanchard was booked and released on a $6,000 bond.
Per KWTX-TV, the warrant was issued out of Fort Bend County in the Houston area and was enforced in Waco and involved Blanchard’s former girlfriend.
The former West Orange-Stark standout had been suspended from the team since February after another set of allegations of violence. Per the Dallas Morning News, a restraining order had been issued in that case.
Baylor’s athletic department issued a statement Tuesday evening, saying that his status with the team remains unchanged.

After Blanchard was released on bond, his attorney also released a statement on the incident.

Blanchard has appeared in 37 games over his career at Baylor. As of Wednesday morning, Blanchard was still listed on the Baylor Athletics website.
