In what was to be an ESPNU televised matchup between No. 3 Sam Houston State and No. 7 Richmond, officials from both teams are now discussing a proper time and place for the game to take place.
A statement from Sam Houston Athletics Director Bobby Williams was made available on the school’s website yesterday that served as a notice that the game could very well be postponed claiming, “The safety of both teams, personnel and fans are the utmost importance and we expect to make a decision soon that is in the best interest of all involved.”
Late Friday morning, a statement from Assistant Athletic Director Jason Barfield was released to make it official that the game had in fact decided to be postponed.
