The Cedar Hill and Mansfield Timberview scrimmage came to an abrupt end Friday night as a suspected gun shot was heard and rang throughout the stadium. The gun shot appeared to come from the entrance on the press box side at Mansfield’s R.L. Anderson Stadium as individuals ran from the parking lot to the stadium bleachers.
Surrounding fans on both sides of the stadium soon became aware of the situation and immediately fled the stadium for safety. Both teams ran to their individual locker rooms as everyone fled on foot for their safety.
According to Fox4, a foot pursuit of two suspects occurred. The suspects have since been apprehended and a gun has been recovered. No injuries have been reported.
