The Muenster Hornets have had a lot of success in 2017 in the field of play. After the school won a state basketball and baseball championship, the Hornets now have their first state title in football after defeating Tenaha in the Class 2A Division II state championship on Thursday afternoon.
One of the stars from the game was sophomore wide receiver/cornerback Danny Luttmer, who earned the TexasHSFootball.com MVP of the game presented by VCRNow. Standing at 6-5, Luttmer finished with 99 yards on seven catches and a touchdown but also came up with two of the biggest plays of the game.

The first coming on a 35-yard touchdown catch on third and nine that set up a third quarter touchdown. The other big play came on the ensuing Tenaha possession when Luttmer picked off C.J. Horn that eventually set up a Muenster field goal. The sophomore came up with big plays in the game and he’ll be back to help the Hornets back on another title run.
As the winner of the MVP award, Luttmer will receive a commemorative custom MVP football, a full scholarship to the Football University Camp of their choice as well as an image collage.
