CIBOLO, Texas — One of the premier running backs in the San Antonio area is staying home for his college career.

Brenden Brady, a Cibolo Steele standout and U.S. Army All-American, announced he was flipping his commitment to UTSA from Rice on Thursday night.

The longtime Rice commit had taken an official visit this past weekend to UTSA.

Brady finished his high school career in a strong way for Steele, rushing for 1,941 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2017. He played a big part offensively during the Knights advance to the Class 6A Division II state quarterfinals.

He was also a late addition to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl roster and participated in the Jan. 6 game at the Alamodome.

Per 247 Sports, Brady is the currently the third-highest rated prospect for the incoming Class of 2018 for UTSA’s Roadrunners.
