48 Million Dollar Megastadium Hosts Texas High School Football Playoff Game as Prosper ISD Opens its Doors

Prosper ISD Stadium

$53 million dollars is a lot of money that can buy some amazing things, and in Texas, that’s the going rate for high school football stadiums as the trend “everything’s bigger in Texas” continues.

The latest football paradise

This year, Prosper ISD opened its doors to a beautiful new football complex topping $53 million — joining the likes of Katy ISD at $72 million, McKinney ISD at almost $70 million and Allen ISD’s $60 million dollar stadiums.

Starting Friday night, this palace will host its very first postseason game as No. 14 Denton Guyer takes on Hebron at 7 p.m.

For these two schools, they will experience what first class is like in the new era of stadiums.

Since Children’s Health has the naming rights, they have equipped the sidelines with a state-of-the-art portable X-Ray machine, medical tents for injury evaluations, and as available, physicians from the hospital will be on the sidelines to assist during games, according to The Dallas Morning News.

The press, coaches, scouts and broadcasters will also enjoy technology at its best. The fans have not been left out either as they will enjoy a gigantic Daktronics scoreboard measuring 57 feet by 33 feet for video replays.

The hardest part for Friday night will be fitting everyone into this stadium.

Guyer and Hebron both travel well and will certainly push the limits of this 12,000 seat stadium.

Guyer comes in as one of the state’s top ranked teams with a regular season record of 9-1. It lone loss coming against No. 6 Southlake Carroll.

For Hebron, it comes into this matchup with an 8-2 record overall. In eight out of the last 10 years, Hebron has put up winning records.

Children’s Health Stadium could not have booked a better matchup for the stadium’s first ever playoff game.

Both of these teams have a lot to prove this postseason.
