Former James Martin High School player, Myles Garrett, was suspended indefinitely by the NFL for swinging Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudloph’s helmet at the quarterback’s unprotected head. It was one of the ugliest incidents in the history of the NFL, and now, the punishments are being levied.
On the heels of Thursday night’s brawl between the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers, the NFL announced Browns defensive end Myles Garrett — a former Arlington Martin and Texas A&M standout — is suspended indefinitely.
Garrett was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Additionally, Steelers lineman Maurkice Pouncey and Browns lineman Larry Ogunjobi were suspended for three and one games, respectively. Rudolph was banned for the remainder of the regular season and postseason.
Along with the suspensions, both teams were hit with fines from the NFL.
