The Super Bowl is here, and everybody has an opinion on the game.
After all, it is the biggest sporting event of every year.
Here at TexasHSFootball.com, we’re no different. We’re analyzing the ridiculous prop bets like how long the national anthem will last or what number jersey scores the first touchdown.
And, of course, we’ve all got our pick for who will hoist the Lombardi Trophy and if they will cover the line.
But with so many eyes on the game, there is no better time than to call your shot than now, and if you’re going to do it, then you might as well go big.
So, here are our bold predictions for Super Bowl LIV between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. Be sure to share your bold predictions with us on Twitter at @texashsfootball.
The 49ers will have a series of three unanswered scores at some point in the game. Kansas City’s offense is virtually unstoppable, proving as much all season by scoring a whopping 451 points, and the Chiefs’ high-scoring ways will continue in the Super Bowl. At some point, though, San Francisco’s defense will hold for a stretch, allowing Jimmy Garoppolo to engineer at least three unanswered scoring drives.

The dreaded “Madden Curse” know for plaguing athletes who appear on the the popular video game’s cover will be broken. San Francisco will come out strong with a couple quick scores, but ultimately, Madden 20 cover boy Patrick Mahomes will lead Kansas City to a Super Bowl championship, winning 38-24.

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Jimmy Bosa will be the MVP with a pair of sacks and at least one pressure that leads to a turnover. Ball control and the line of scrimmage will be critical, but the 49ers defensive line will impose its will on the Chiefs, and Jimmy Garoppolo, who will have a two short touchdown passes, will manage the game well enough for a 24-21 win. It’ll be similar to the New York Giants’ defense beating the undefeated New England Patriots in 2008.

Defense will not win this championship. The 49ers just don’t have enough quarterback power to keep pace with the many weapons the Chiefs offense has. For that reason, led by Texas product Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs will win 35-17.
