The day before the Super Bowl, the NFL announced the winners of major awards and honors — two of which are the Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year.
In 2019, some incredible rookie performed, and while San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa was no surprise, Arizona Cardinals quarterback and former Allen product Kyler Murray was, being honored with the Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Murray has been spinning heads going back to his days as the field general of the Eagles. Murray was undefeated in high school and headed into college as the nation’s top prospect.
With a brief stint in College Station before ultimately transferring to Oklahoma, Murray won the Heisman trophy.
Today the NFL recognized what everyone in the states of Texas and Oklahoma already knew — Murray is special.
