2020 REEDY LIONS SEASON RECAP
After having some nice success in 5A Division 2, the Reedy Lions jumped to 5A Division 1 last season, which led to an up and down year. The Lions warmed up playing non district games against former District foes, Frisco Liberty and Frisco High. After getting off to a hot start in district, beating Heritage and Independence, the Lions struggled down the stretch, losing to Centennial and The Colony in their last two games and missing out on the playoffs.

2021 Reedy Lions Preview
2021 could be a big year for the Lions as they return six starters on offense, including QB A.J. Padgett (6’4, 210, 4.6). The Lions had several injuries last season, including Junior Receiver Kaleb Smith, who had 4 touchdowns before getting hurt. Smith’s an electric playmaker and will be paired with Junior Receiver A.J. Jayroe (6’5) who transferred from Prestonwood. Defensively, the Lions should be strong up front, let by DE Kaden Freeman (6’4, 230).

2021 REEDY LIONS PLAYER SPOTLIGHT
QB A.J. Padgett is primed for a big year. With good size and speed, he put up great numbers in 2020, accounting for 26 touchdowns in 10 games. Considering the offensive weapons around him, Padgett could challenge Lone Star QB Garrett Rangel for District MVP. Padgett had an impressive spring and recently committed to Rice.
