Westlake Chaparrals Maintain Longest Win Streak In Nation
Safe to say Westlake is really, really good at football.
The Chaparrals currently own the longest win streak in the nation and the third most in Lone Star State history.
Their 51st victory overtakes Bixby (Oklahoma), whose own streak came to an end at 58 last Friday.
Westlake annihilated Cedar Ridge Raiders, 59-10, in a neutral playoff game yesterday, extending their streak of winning every game this year by double digits. The second-longest streak in the state currently belongs to defending 6A Division 1 state champs No. 9 North Shore, winning 24 consecutive matches.
Westlake still has a long way to go to break the state record. From 1998-2002, Celina managed 68 wins. The all-time record belongs to De La Salle High School in Concord, California, wh0 streaked to an eye-popping 151 dubs from 1992-2003.
The Chaparrals are aiming to win their fourth straight state title this postseason.
