Week Nine 4A Team of the Week: Farmersville
4A Team of the Week: Farmersville Farmers
Farmersville didn’t even win a district game a year ago. Now, the Farmers are right in the thick of the playoff race.
This past week, Farmersville stormed back from a 21-7 deficit entering the fourth quarter against Krum.
Quarterback Caden Norman and Kaden Johnson each scored rushing touchdowns in the final period to send the game to overtime tied at 21.
Then after Krum missed a field goal, Gerardo Reyes scored the game-winning two-yard touchdown to cap a memorable night for Farmersville, according to the Farmersville Times.
Norman moved the ball all night for the offense, finishing with 305 passing yards and another 121 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Receiver Arden Cox made a number of big plays as well, finishing with five catches for 206 yards.
With the win, Farmersville is now 2-2 in district play ahead of their matchup against Sanger this Friday. A win in that game coupled with a Krum win over Bridgeport as well on Friday and the Farmers would lock up a playoff spot for the first time since 2019. Any other results and the battle for the final two playoff spots in District 5-4A Division II would go down to the final week of the regular season.
