Aldine High will be welcoming a new head coach in 2017, but it’s a familiar face. Per Matt Stepp, Hank Semler will take over as the head coach of the Mustangs.
Semler, who was Aldine’s defensive line coach, will be inheriting the reins to a program that has won two games in the past two years including last year’s winless season.
Semler replaces James Kowalewski, who went 2-18 in his two seasons at Aldine. Offensive coordinator Nate Shallenberger was serving as the interim head coach of the Mustangs before Semler was named the full-time head coach.
Aldine’s last win dates back to October 2015 when they defeated Houston Nimitz 36-32.
