Gordon pulled off a furious rally to stay undefeated and alive in the 1A Division I playoffs on Friday.
Trailing 48-36 with four minutes to go, Gordon freshman Riley Reed scored to cut the Blum lead to just four.
Just twenty seconds later of game time later, Reed was in the end zone again following a Blum fumble. Those two quickfire touchdowns gave Gordon a 52-48 lead it wouldn’t relinquish as Blum would fumble yet again with just over 90 seconds remaining.
This is the second straight year Gordon has advanced to the third round of the playoffs. But instead of archrival Strawn awaiting them like last year, the Longhorns will face undefeated Abbott in a highly anticipated showdown on Friday in Hico.
