2A Team of the Week: Forsan Buffaloes
Forsan and Stamford may have played the most dramatic minute of football of the weekend.
Down 13-6, Stamford jumped ahead with just 54 seconds left on a four-yard touchdown run by Kaston Vega and a pass from Christian Duran to Quinton Pryor on the ensuing two-point conversion
However, Forsan had one last trick up its sleeve.
Cade Wallis had thrown for just 26 yards on the night, but he delivered when the Buffaloes needed it the most.
On Forsan’s first offensive play following Stamford’s touchdown, Wallis connected with Brooks Wright for a 63-yard touchdown to give Forsan the lead back just 14 seconds later.
That touchdown ended up being the difference as Forsan advanced to the area round for the second straight year with a 21-14 victory.
The Buffaloes will now face New Deal this Thursday in Denver City as they look to advance past the area round for the first time since 2016.
