The Monsters of the Midway drafted a monster up front after drafting Tulsa defensive lineman Trevis Gipson (Cedar Hill) with the 155th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Gipson joins a Chicago Bears team that went 8-8 in 2019.
Gipson had a career year as a senior with the Golden Hurricane posting 49 tackles, eight sacks and 15 tackles for loss. Gipson ranked second in the nation with five forced fumbles in 2018.
He finished his prep career at Cedar Hill after playing two varsity seasons at Richmond Berkner and won a Class 6A state championship with the Longhorns.
Gipson became the second former Texas High School Football star selected in the fifth round after the Seattle Seahawks selected Syracuse’s Alton Robinson 148th overall.
