Cypress DL Landon Rink Becomes Texas A&M 5th Commit of 2025
In the wake of dismissing coach Jimbo Fischer, Texas A&M continues its reboot under new head coach Mike Elko. Today, the Aggies added their fifth commit to their 2025 class when Cypress defensive lineman standout Landon Rink announced his verbal pledge to the program. Each hard commit for the class hails from the Lone Star State.
Despite his status as a Longhorn legacy (his father was UT standout DL Shane Rink, competing from 1991-95), Rink was wooed by the vision of new defensive line coach Sean Spencer and new defensive coordinator Jay Bateman.
At 6’2” and 280 pounds, Rink was a commanding presence in the defensive interior during his junior season, accounting for 70 tackles, 15 sacks, 30 tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles.
On the recruiting front, Rink had fielded offers from schools such as Baylor, SMU, Texas, and Texas Tech.
Next season, out of 17 commits, Texas A&M boasts seven athletes next season from the Lone Star State. Such standouts include Terry Bussey (Timpson, CB), Blake Ivey (League City, OT), and Myles Davis (Converse, S). The Aggies will also play host to an additional 23 transfers.
Rink will take his official visit to College Station on June 13.
