Former Texas A&M and DeSoto great Von Miller is in hot water… again.
Nearly a year after Miller was accused of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend, the Buffalo Bills defensive end will serve a four game suspension without pay for violating the league’s Personal Conduct Policy.
“Miller will be eligible for reinstatement on October 28 following the Bills’ Week 8 game against the Seattle Seahawks,” the league said today in a statement.
Although there is currently no known reason for the suspension, the felony assault last year looms heavily. Miller claimed the allegations were false and the alleged victim eventually recanted.
Without the alleged victim’s cooperation, the NFL would have to rely on police reports and related evidence during their investigation, including evidence found that the girlfriend suffered from “minor abrasions” and “injuries consistent with applied pressure to the neck.”
Miller, a two-time Super Bowl champ and former Super Bowl MVP, was previously investigated by Colorado police for messages in which he allegedly threatened to give his ex-girlfriend a miscarriage.
In four games, the former District 8-5A Defensive MVP with DeSoto has racked up three sacks and four quarterback hits.
Miller’s alma mater gets a much needed reprieve this weekend, before competing in the likely game of the year against district rivals Duncanville next Friday; both schools are victors of back-to-back state titles.
