Duncanville May Be Team To Beat In Win Over Waxahachie

Round Rock Hail Roof Inspection

It’s safe to say Duncanville is pretty unstoppable this season. The Panthers built a 30-0 halftime lead against Waxahachie, before winning the contest 44-10. Senior tailback and LSU commit Caden Durham was responsible for three total touchdowns.

Following a safety, Duncanville scored on their first four consecutive possessions, capped by a one-yard rushing score by Durham.

SMU commit Keelon Russel had his second touchdown pass of the night on a 66-yard catch-and-run to senior receiver and LSU commit Dakorien Moore to achieve the first half 30-0 marker. Through two quarters, the Indians were held to a mere 31 total yards.

After allowing 13 points in their season-opening win against South Oak Cliff, the Panthers’ stout defense—led by sophomore end and highly touted DJ Ford— managed three consecutive shutouts. Their streak came to an end early in the second half, after 15 straight quarters, when the Indians booted in a 30-yard field goal.

Still, nitpicking aside, everything else went for the defending Class 6A Division I state champions. Currently, the Panthers are on a 20 game winning streak and boasts 45 consecutive wins in district competition through eight seasons. The squad hopes to continue their championship streak, putting more hardware in the trophy case besides their efforts in 1998 and 2022.

After contests away at Mansfield and home for Skyline, Duncanville will face their hardest test against fellow undefeated DeSoto on October 27th.
