Eastwood Key Players and Storylines

Impressively, they achieved all of that with a young core offensively. Senior quarterback Kingston Jeffries is a gamer, throwing for 1,898 yards and rushing for another 519 a year ago. He’s got a pair of juniors to lead the unit alongside him in receiver Jordan Nava (578 receiving yards and nine touchdowns) and electric running back Matthew Ramirez (1,100 rushing yards and eight touchdowns). Julio Lopez and company will just need to shore up the trenches after graduating three all-district linemen.

Defensively, seven of Eastwood’s eight leading tacklers graduated. The good news is the one who is returning led the team in tackles a year ago. Zacary Adams (93 tackles, 10 TFLs) can be a physical enforcer in the middle of the field at 6’0″ and 220 pounds. They also have some talent still in the secondary including ballhawk cornerback Logan Bedwell (35 tackles and six INTs) and fellow defensive back Noah Williams (26 tackles, two INTs).
The Troopers averaged 35 points per game a year ago and every key skill player has another year of experience under their belt now. If the defense can gel after losing so many of its top tacklers, the Troopers will be favorites to bring home yet another district title.
