Eaton No Match for Southlake Carroll’s Punishing Offense

Tom Thumb - DFW's Grocer Since 1948

Another week, another Southlake Carroll triumph.

In front of their home crowd, the Dragons kept their perfect season spotless, blowing out V.R. Eaton 50-14. Southlake Carroll has now won ten straight, dating back to last season. Davis Penn led the offense with 131 yards and a touchdown on a mere 11 carries, contributing to a run game that accounted for a total 256 rushing yards. The team has now rushed for at least 178 rushing yards in 13 consecutive games since last season. Brock Boyd spearheaded the passing game, catching for 108 total yards and two touchdowns.

In total, the Dragons had 411 yards compared to 291 by V.R. Eaton, led by both starter Angelo Renda (135 yards, three tds, one int.) and backup Coleman Cowler, who also saw reps.

Southlake Carroll has now won five contests by more than 23 points this year. On the other hand, Eaton ended their three-game away win streak and are now 3-3. The Eagles are now 0-7 against the Dragons since November 2018.

Next Thursday, Southlake will travel away to take on Northwest. V.R. Eaton will try to get above the .500 marker against Byron Nelson next Friday.
