Ewers On Hand For Southlake Carroll Blow-Out

Round Rock Hail Roof Inspection

Coming off the Longhorns’ first loss of the season, quarterback Quinn Ewers decided to spend Texas bye week by returning to his routes. Three hours away from Darryl K. Royal, Ewers took in the Friday night lights as his alma mater Southlake Carroll obliterated Keller Central 70-7. The Dragons improved to 7-0 on the season and continue to dominate their opponents by a score of 394-73. So far, Southlake Carroll has held six-of-seven opponents to below 15 points.

All signs are pointing towards another title to join their trophy case—already filled with eight state championships and three national championships. However, since their 2011 championship campaign, the Dragons has made only one state championship. Last season, Carroll fell to Denton Guyer in the playoffs.

After committing to Ohio State and skipping his senior high school season, Ewers transferred to Texas and won the starting job a year later. This season, he is completing 69.6% of his passes for 1,704 yards and 11 touchdowns. According to ESPN analyst Mel Kiper, Ewers could boast the talent of a top-10 pick. He is currently listed at 6’3”, 206 pounds and now has a season and a half collegiate experience under his belt. Currently, he is expected to be the third quarterback coming out of the draft, following USC’s Caleb Williams and North Carolina’s Drake Make.

Ewers was last year’s No. 1 high school prospect in the class of 2022. In two seasons as Southlake Carroll’s starter, Ewer passed for 6,445 yards and 73 touchdown passes.
